Claim: A video shows Netanyahu alleging that Iran “had the support of Pakistan and China” during the 12-day war with Israel. He warns that his country, along with India, would retaliate and claims that Israel would have obliterated Iran had Trump not announced a ceasefire. “We will not abandon Gaza, nor the Muslims of Gaza,” he promises in the clip.
Fact: The video is doctored, likely using AI. In the original version, posted online on 22 June 2025, Netanyahu did not say anything of this sort but only praised Israel, the US, and Trump.
On 9 July 2025, TikTok account @gvn.news posted (archive) a video of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu alleging that Iran had the support of Pakistan and China in the 12-day war with his country in June 2022.
In the clip, Netanyahu says, “A few days ago, I listened to a statement by Iran’s Supreme Leader and army chief, in which they said that if Israel makes another mistake, they will annihilate it completely. Let me tell you with certainty: if Mr. Trump hadn’t intervened between you, we wouldn’t have left anything of you behind. You also had the support of Pakistan and China. But now, along with India, we are gonna respond to both you and Pakistan for what Pakistan did with you … even though they didn’t directly. They worked behind the scenes. But, now, we will respond to that. Even though a ceasefire has been declared, you should also be prepared. We will not abandon Gaza, nor the Muslims of Gaza. Asterisk.”
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check observed Netanyahu’s unnatural head movements, leading us to believe that the video was doctored, likely using artificial intelligence (AI). Towards the end, the Israeli PM says “asterisk”, indicating that the manual text input for speech generation may have included the same word but was not removed before the final product was uploaded.
Interestingly, a sudden jump in the clip at the 30-second mark possibly indicates looping.
We then ran a reverse-image search using keyframes from the viral clip. This led us to a video statement by Netanyahu on 22 June 2025 that was published on the Israeli Prime Minister’s official YouTube channel.
In this speech, Netanyahu says, “Congratulations, President Trump. Your bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history. In Operation Rising Lion, Israel has done truly amazing things. But, in tonight’s action against Iran’s nuclear facilities, America has been truly unsurpassed. It has done what no other country on Earth could do. History will record that President Trump acted to deny the world’s most dangerous regime the world’s most dangerous weapons. His leadership today has created a pivot of history that can help lead the Middle East and beyond to a future of prosperity and peace. President Trump and I often say, ‘Peace through strength.’ First comes strength, then comes peace. And tonight, President Trump and the United States acted with a lot of strength. President Trump, I thank you, the people of Israel thank you, the forces of civilisation thank you. God bless America, God bless Israel, and may God bless our unshakable alliance, our unbreakable faith.”
The same speech is also available on Reuters and the New York Post.
Sound engineer’s analysis
Soch Fact Check also sought a comment from Shaur Azher, a lecturer who teaches sound design and sound recording at the University of Karachi and the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST). He also works as an audio engineer at Soch Videos, our sister company, who specialises in mixing and mastering audio as well.
“The audio shows multiple indicators of synthetic origin, including frequency uniformity, consistent waveform compression, and the presence of machine-generated dialogue delivery,” said Azher.
“While no splice cuts are present, the overall characteristics point strongly toward AI voice synthesis and not an authentic, live-recorded speech,” he added, noting, “However, I noticed a slight shift away from the monotonic voices we hear in such viral clips, indicating that the AI models used to generate such content appear to be improving.”
The technical observations he provided to support his argument are as follows:
- Synthetic frequency profile: A persistent synthetic frequency band was detected ranging from 20 to 15,000 hertz (Hz). The frequencies remain static and unnaturally smooth, lacking the organic fluctuations typical of human vocal cords. These signatures are consistent with AI-generated voice synthesis.
- Monotonic pattern analysis: No conventional monotone delivery was detected. However, the delivery pattern reflects recent advancements in AI voice models that simulate emotional inflection and pacing. This suggests a next-gen AI model trained on expressive speech datasets.
- Splice cut detection: No visible splice cuts or waveform discontinuities were observed. This implies the speech was likely generated in a single pass or rendered as a whole audio unit, rather than manually edited or stitched.
- Compression and waveform scaling: Dynamic range is unusually tight, with the full waveform compressed and scaled to -5 decibels (dB) consistently throughout. Natural speech typically includes dynamic peaks and valleys; this locked amplitude suggests post-processing normalisation or AI mastering techniques.
AI detection tools
We ran the video through Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector, which uses AI to verify if an audio clip is authentic. It gave a score of 13 out of 100 to the clip — specifically the portion where Netanyahu says, “you also have the support of pakistan and china but” — indicating that the sampled voice is “likely a deepfake”.
We also ran the viral clip and another version of it with the top and bottom text cropped out in DeepFake-O-Meter, a tool developed by the University at Buffalo’s Media Forensics Lab (UB MDFL). Of the available detectors, we used four, namely DSP-FWA, WAV2LIP-STA, LIPINC, and FTCN.
The probability of the audio in question being fake according to the aforementioned detectors is provided in the table below:
It is important to note that with an improvement in the latest AI video generation and editing models, the results of deepfake detection tools may start to vary significantly.
Israeli fact-checker’s comment
Soch Fact Check also reached out to FakeReporter’s Information Warfare Researcher Tal Hagin, who confirmed that the video was indeed fake. “Netanyahu never said this,” he said.
Hagin subsequently put out a post on his X account about the same.
Virality
The video by @gvn.news has been viewed 209,500 times so far. It also received over 6,800 likes, 1,000 comments, and 1,200 shares.
Conclusion: The video is doctored, likely using AI. In the original one posted online on 22 June 2025, Netanyahu did not say anything of this sort but only praised Israel, the US, and Trump.
