Claim: An image shows mannequins hanging outside a garment shop in Sindh in 2025.
Fact: The image is neither from 2025 nor from Sindh. It actually depicts a shop in Yemen in 2020.
On 31 December 2025, Facebook user ‘Asghar Ali’ posted (archive) a somewhat menacing picture of mannequins hanging outside a shop, with the following caption:
“نیچے دی گئی تصویر ایران یا افغانستان کی نہیں ہے بلکہ یہ سندھ میں قصائیوں کے لڑکوں نے گارمنٹس کی دکان کھولی ہے 🤣🤣😁😁😁اللّه ترقی دے آمین
[The picture below is not from Iran or Afghanistan, but rather a a garment shop run by the sons of butchers in Sindh 🤣🤣😁😁😁 May Allah grant them success, Amen]”

Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check found the photo to be old and unrelated to Sindh, Pakistan.
A reverse-image search on TinEye said it appeared earliest online on 9 February 2020 in a Reddit post, which appears to have been deleted. Another thread on the same platform shows it was uploaded on 1 July 2020.
Additionally, Google Reverse Image Search led us to an Arabic-language website called Almashhad al Khaleeji (archive), which wrote about how “a photo from Al-Bayda [a city in Yemen] sparks widespread ridicule on social media”.
“The image shows a number of statues [mannequins] dressed in new clothes and hung on the gate of a shop in the city of Al-Bayda in a manner that appears to be a mass execution (hanging),” the publication added.
We also found that the image previously circulated in Georgia in 2021 and was debunked by Myth Detector, an outlet accredited by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN), of which Soch Fact Check is also a signatory.
Soch Fact Check, therefore, concludes that the image does not show a garment shop owned by “butchers’ sons in Sindh” nor is it recent.
Virality
We found the image circulating here, here, and here on Facebook, as well as here, here, and here on Instagram.
Conclusion: The image is neither from 2025 nor from Sindh. It actually depicts a shop in Yemen in 2020.
