Claim: PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has been elected as the chairperson of Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation.
Fact: Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has not been elected to any such post, his party’s information secretary has confirmed.
Multiple media outlets and social media pages claimed in September 2025 that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain — the president of the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam group), or PML-Q, and a former prime minister — has been elected as the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation’s (PBBF) chairperson (archived here here here here here here and here).
On 16 September, the PBBF had announced that a meeting of its General Council would be held at the Municipal Corporation Library near Faisalabad’s Dhobi Ghat Ground, officially known as the Iqbal Park, on 19 September.
The claim alleged that PBBF Secretary-General Sohail Anwar and President Muhammad Tariq Hassan “welcomed him to the meeting”. Hussain “appreciated the achievements of national bodybuilders and assured full cooperation”, it added.
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check did not find any reliable report about the development published by a reputable news outlet.
We did, however, come across posts by PML-Q Central Information Secretary Ghulam Mustafa Malik, who denied any such development to a number of media outlets.
“Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain’s [political] position is very high [and] he does not need such positions. Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain did not become the chairman of the Bodybuilding Federation,” he was quoted as saying. “Derogatory comments about the senior politician are a reflection of a low mentality,” he added.
Malik noted that the PML-Q chief’s son, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, is the body’s current president.
The image accompanying some of these posts, showing Hussain with Anwar and Hassan, was shared by the PBBF on its Instagram account on 20 September. It is from a meeting at the PML-Q chief’s residence.
