Soch Fact Check is a non-partisan organisation dedicated to sorting fact from fiction. False news has the potential to mislead citizens, sway elections, and endanger lives. Our goal is to stop the spread of misinformation and disinformation by promoting accuracy in media and public discourse.

Zainab Husain is the managing editor of Soch Fact Check She previously worked as a video producer at Soch Videos, where she has produced documentaries about politics, gender justice, urban planning and human rights. She has a BA in Social Anthropology from SOAS, University of London and an MPhil in Planning, Growth and Regeneration at the University of Cambridge.
Haseem uz Zaman is a journalist and fact-checker at Soch Fact Check. Previously associated with Geo News, they have extensive news-building and editorial experience and divide their time between reading, photography, and activism. Their areas of interest include gender, minority rights, intersectionality, class and oppression, as well as protests and queer politics in South Asia.
Sameen Aziz is a fact-checker at Soch Fact Check. She has previously worked as a social media manager for Pakistani writer Nemrah Ahmed. She also works as a freelance writer. She is pursuing an MS in Media and Communication Studies from the International Islamic University.In her free time, she enjoys photography, reading and gardening.
Hamna Baig is a fact-checker at Soch Fact Check. She has a BA in Media Sciences from Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology and an MA in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Kent. Her stories have appeared in an international media outlet, Pioneers Post as well as in local online and print publications in Pakistan; DAWN, ARY News and SAMAA Digital. She covers culture, social issues and social entrepreneurship as a freelance journalist.
Areeba Fatima is a fact-checker and investigative reporter. She has a BS in Anthropology from Lahore University of Management Sciences. She has worked with the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and has covered the Suisse Secrets for Fact Focus. She loves working with large datasets to extract meaningful information. She is interested in cybersecurity, financial crime, political corruption and technology.
