Claim: A video shows a massive blast in Northern Israel following a recent Iranian strike.

Fact: This claim is false as this video is from Egypt, and dates back to 18 March 2026.

Facebook user Sohail Jaffar posted a video with the caption :

شمالی اسرائیل کے علاقوں اصبع الجلیل اور کریات شمونہ میں اس وقت بڑے دھماکے اور شدید آگ بھڑک رہی ہے۔ 🔥🔥”

[Translation: “Big explosions and intense fires are currently erupting in the areas of northern Israel, Asba Al-Jaleel and Kryat Shamona. 🔥🔥”]

Fact or Fiction?

Soch Fact Check investigated this claim by conducting a reverse-image search that led to news reports of this fire published before June 2026. The first report dated back to 19 March 2026, and was published by local Egyptian news outlet El-Sadara El-Dawlia Newspaper. It reported a fire at  “Nour Al-Sham” Restaurant located in Kafr Tahrmas, Giza. Another, Egyptian news outlet called “Veto Gate (بوابة فيتو)” reported the fire on 18 March 2026, showing images that are similar to the frames of the video.

Furthermore, an Egyptian news outlet called “News Room”  had posted the aftermath of this fire confirming it did take place in Egypt. Based on this video, we were able to find a video posted by an independent media company called Khabar around the same date in March. We compared the frame from this video posted by “Khabar” and the Facebook reel to see if they match.

Comparison of Facebook reel and Khabar coverage

Analysing the video closely, Soch Fact Check also found indications that the video is from Egypt and not Israel. The building with the logo “ZEE” is seen in both videos, and when researched this brand is a men’s clothing Egyptian owned brand. Moreover, there is a flagship store located in Kafr Tahrmas Road, due to it being a commercial area in Giza, Egypt.

News reports from Egyptian news outlets and analysis of the video can be concluded that this video is not from any “current” attack in northern Israel. It dates back to March of this year and likely shows a restaurant fire in Egypt.

Virality

The majority of these videos were found on Facebook; the most viral post gained significant traction with 2.2K likes.

One specific X post by a Pakistani user, shared in March, got the most interaction from all social media platforms with 237.3K views.

Conclusion: The video is not from Israel, but from Egypt.
