Claim: A viral image shows Shehbaz Sharif’s Year 10 report card from the 1980-81 academic year.
Fact: The image is fake. Its own dates place Sharif in Year 10 at age 29, while credible records show he completed his education years earlier. The document also refers to “Nawaz” in its teacher remarks despite naming Shehbaz as the student.
On 28 August 2026, the Facebook page ‘The last Hope’ shared an image purporting to show Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s school report card. The post, published at approximately 4:44 am PKT, contained a screenshot of a TikTok “For You” feed displaying the alleged report card.

The header reads “Selector Science School, Lahore, Pakistan”. The document, which describes itself as a student progress report for the 1980-81 academic session, lists “Shehbaz Sharif” as the student, “Mian Muhammad Sharif” as his father, gives his date of birth as 23 September 1951 and places him in “Year 10-B”.
The purported report card assigns Sharif low marks in eight subjects, including 22 out of 100 in English, 20 in mathematics, 19 in science and 18 in humanities. It gives him a total score of 177 out of 800 and an overall grade of F+.
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check found that the purported report card conflicts with Shehbaz Sharif’s real age, documented educational history and details visible within the document itself. The document lists Sharif’s date of birth as 23 September 1951, identifies him as a Year 10 student during the 1980-81 academic session and is dated 15 April 1981. Sharif would actually have been 29 years old when the purported report card was issued. The Associated Press of Pakistan also records Sharif’s date of birth as 23 September 1951 and states that he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Government College University, Lahore.
His documented education history further contradicts the viral image. An official profile published by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting states that Sharif graduated from Government College, Lahore, “with a distinction”. A profile published by The Express Tribune states that he received his early education at Saint Anthony’s High School in Lahore, later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Government College University and joined his family business with his elder brother Nawaz Sharif in the early 1970s. This means Sharif had completed his school and university education years before the purported report card places him in Year 10 in 1981.
The image also contains visible inconsistencies; the school’s name at the top of the purported report card and on the crest is “Selector Science School”, while the circular stamp placed partly over the student photograph reads “Selector Grammar School Lahore”. The document therefore gives two different names for the institution purportedly issuing the same school record. Another discrepancy appears in the handwritten teacher remarks. Although “Shehbaz Sharif” is written in the student-name field, the Urdu remarks begin with “Nawaz ko”, referring to Nawaz rather than Shehbaz.
Soch Fact Check also searched for “Selector Science School” in Lahore but found no credible official or historical record connecting Sharif to an institution by that name. The lack of such a record alone does not establish that the school never existed, but no evidence was found supporting the document’s provenance.
Soch Fact Check also analysed the image using TruthScan, an AI image-detection tool. It classified the purported report card as “Synthetic”, returning a 97% AI probability with a high confidence level. While AI-detection tools are not conclusive on their own, the result provides additional support for the other inconsistencies identified in the image.

Taken together, Sharif’s age in 1981, his documented education history, the conflicting details within the image and TruthScan’s analysis show that the viral document cannot be his genuine Year 10 report card.

Soch Fact Check found the claim circulating across at least 16 Meta posts, including 10 on Facebook, three on Instagram, and three on Threads. One Threads post garnered 161,000 views and approximately 4,000 interactions, while separate Facebook posts received around 1,776 and 1,726 interactions. Overall, the Meta posts reviewed received approximately 7,624 visible interactions. Including an X post, the claim garnered approximately 8,044 interactions and at least 274,900 views.
Conclusion: The viral image is not Shehbaz Sharif’s genuine school report card. Its own dates place him in Year 10 at age 29, while credible records show he had completed his education years earlier. The document also contains conflicting school names and refers to “Nawaz” despite naming Shehbaz as the student.
