Claim: A clip posted on X by MPA Hina Parvez Butt, shows Sky News reporter Yalda Hakim reporting that former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s refusal to meet daughter Tyrian White is the cause of delay in his son’s travel to Pakistan.
Fact: Analysis shows the video posted by Butt on 10 February is a deep fake.
The video captioned “Yalda Hakim,an Afghan-born anchor of an American TV channel,has made an interesting claim about why the founder of PTI has stopped Qasim and Suleman from coming to Pakistan and meeting him. After Yalda Hakim’s revelation, the PTI’s claim that the government of Pakistan is stopping Qasim and Suleman from coming to meet their father has been debunked. It has been proven that none other than their father himself and his cover-up of Riyasat-e-Madina are the obstacles in the arrival of Imran Khan’s sons in Pakistan.”
The video shows Yalda Hakim saying:
“I’ve got a bit of an update on the former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. We’ve been following this story for some time. I did an exclusive interview with both of his sons.
They told me their father was in complete solitary confinement, that he didn’t have access to his physician, to his lawyers, and that he hadn’t met any family members. Yet what we are hearing now is indeed shocking.
Both Qasim and Suleiman were ready to go to Pakistan, but were stopped by Tyrian who also insisted that she wanted to visit her father. When the sons contacted Mr. Khan, he bluntly refused, saying that it might create an uproar due, which what we are now hearing is that there is a feud amongst the Goldsmith family, with both Qasim and Suleiman siding with their sister, Tyrian, that if Mr. Khan now does not decide to meet his daughter, they will also not go to Pakistan to meet him.I will keep updating everyone on the latest advances in this feud. This is Yalda signing out.”

Qasim and Suleiman Khan’s Visa Issues
In recent months, concerns have grown as Imran Khan’s family and legal counsel say they have not faced limitation meeting him .In 2025 December, Yalda Hakim interviewed his sons, who reportedly were unable to get visas to visit their father. In this verified interview, Qasim and Suleiman Khan expressed plans to travel in January 2026 to visit the the jailed former prime minister, if granted visas by the Government of Pakistan.
There is a significant delay on their visas being approved, and has been actively reported by journalist Yalda Hakim.These developments have unfolded alongside a surge in manipulated content falsely attributed to Yalda Hakim, where deepfaked clips and altered audio misuse her reporting to advance unverified claims about Khan’s family.
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check cross-checked journalist Yalda Hakim’s verified official X page and found the original video.We reviewed the full 1 minute 38-seconds, where the journalist speaks about the sons’ application for a visa to Pakistan to visit their father. The journalist does not mention Tyrian White at any point.
The reason for the delay that is actually mentioned by Yalda Hakim is between 00:37 to 00:59 seconds and is transcribed below:
“His sons, Qasim and Suleiman, say that their visa application has been rejected. The Pakistan government has come out and said that’s not the case, that there’s a technical issue with their application and that they’d like them to reapply. But his party and his supporters say this is some kind of delay tactic to really prevent any more attention on Imran Khan.”

Deepfake detectors’ results
To further investigate if the video was altered, we ran it through Hive Moderation,an AI-based tool that processes images and videos to detect manipulated or synthetic media,particularly deepfakes.Yalda being present in both the videos is misleading, Hive Moderation indicates a synthetic or altered voice may have been added to authentic footage. As the results are presenting a 99.9% likely AI-generated speech chance. The supporting image is as follows:
Furthermore, Soch Fact Check used Resemble, specifically used for deepfake detection which helped analyze the audio in the video. The results were as follows:
Both results by these detectors, conclude that Yalda Hakim’s comments about Imran Khan’s alleged daughter are not the reason for the delay for a visit.
Sound Engineer’s Analysis
Soch Fact Check reached out to Shaur Azher, a lecturer who teaches sound design and sound recording at the University of Karachi and the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST). He also works as an audio engineer at our sister organisation, Soch Videos, and specialises in mixing and mastering audio.
The following forensic analysis was done of the video posted by Hina Pervez Butt by Shaur Azher. The fake audio of Yalda Hakim was investigated individually, and based on equations under different parameters like tonality, amplitude, pitch, coherence and factors like breathing and background noises. Equations had to be applied here, as the AI tools used on this video was very complex, and could not be compared to the original video found on the journalist’s twitter.
The spectrogram has been analysed below, on the different parameters:
- Perturbation Analysis: Jitter & Shimmer
- Jitter (Frequency Instability): 0.3100. This measures the cycle-to-cycle variations in fundamental frequency (pitch).
- Shimmer (Amplitude Instability): 0.1951. This measures the cycle-to-cycle variations in amplitude (loudness).
- Forensic Insight: While these values fall within a range typical of human speech, the consistency of these perturbations across the entire 58-second clip is unusually uniform, a common trait in high-quality neural clones that lack natural emotional drift.
- Phase Coherence Analysis
- High-frequency phase variance was analyzed to check for vocoder “phasiness”
- Significant phase stability was detected in the upper-frequency bands (above 12kHz).
- Natural recordings typically exhibit stochastic (random) phase behavior in high frequencies due to microphone noise and room acoustics. The high coherence observed here is a signature of modern neural vocoders (e.g., HiFi-GAN), which reconstruct audio with mathematical regularity.
- Breath Signature Comparison
A.The audio exhibits a 0.015 silence/pause ratio.
B.Forensic Insight: Analysis of low-energy segments reveals “breath” sounds that lack the physiological “pre-attack” (the gradual intake of air) found in authentic human speech. These signatures appear as isolated, gated noise blocks rather than integral parts of the speech chain.
- Room Tone Fingerprint Comparison
- Noise Floor Variance Value: 0.000356.
B.The “silence” between words is not true silence but a static, low-energy noise floor.
C..The room tone is classified as “unstable” This indicates that the background noise was likely overlaid or generated to mask the “dead silence” typical of raw AI output, yet it lacks the dynamic environmental shifts (e.g., distant movement or electrical hum fluctuations) of a real-world recording
- Cepstral Coefficient Deviation Testing (MFCC)
A Leading Coefficients: [346.26, 3576.70,-444.51]. The Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) show a highly “optimized” spectral envelope.
- Deviation testing reveals that the transitions between phonetic sounds are mathematically smoother than human physiological capabilities allow. This “over-smoothing” is a classic byproduct of the loss-minimization functions used during the training of AI voice models.
Final Forensic Verdict
There is AI Neural Cloning present in the video, making the video a deepfake, due to multiple factors like amplitude, pitch and tonality which is uniform that would not happen if it was a human speaking.The voice in the video sounds too smooth and even, which is not how people normally talk. Real voices go up and down, but this one stays almost the same. There are no small sounds like breathing or mouth noises that we usually hear. This makes it seem like the voice was made by a computer, not a real person.
Based on our own investigation, AI deepfake detector tools and a sound engineer’s analysis, Soch Fact Check concludes that Yalda Hakim did not comment on Tyrian White in the original video.
