Claim: A video clip of a group of uniformed men is being shared across social media platforms, accompanied by captions that claim it features Pakistan Army personnel engaged in an exercise.

Fact: The video does not show Pakistan Army personnel. The uniforms worn by the men in the footage are identifiable as those used by Pakistani police forces, not the country’s military.

A video of uniformed men rolling on the ground was posted on 12 November on X with the following caption:

Pakistan’s huge response is ready. Wait for it! Nuclear-armed Pakistan’s powerful military exercises.”

The video is cut together with a clip of a man mocking the police, saying:

Translation: What training is this! What training is this! Boy, don’t comment in Pashto. The English [people] will know that these are Pakistani people and this is their police. Fear God, don’t you make people laugh at you. Then you have recorded this too and then shared it on social media.”

Although the caption of this video claims the uniformed men are from the Pakistan Army, the man speaking in the video says they are from the police force.

The video is posted by another X user with the same caption, along with a sentence in Pashto that reads:

اتمي وسلو لرونکی ځواکمن پاکستاني پوځ تمرینونه کوي”

[Translation: The powerful Pakistani military, which has nuclear weapons, is conducting exercises.]

Most of the posts that appeared after reverse searching the video that is being fact-checked are claiming that the uniformed men in the video are from the armed forces of Pakistan.

The videos, that are claiming it is the army personnel who are being shown in the video, are being posted at a time when the capital cities of Pakistan and India, Islamabad and New Delhi, were hit by explosions.

Explosions in India and Pakistan

On 10 November, a high-intensity blast occurred in a crowded area in Old Delhi, India, near a metro station, according to AlJazeera. As a result, 13 people were killed and more than 20 were injured.

The next day, on 11 November, a blast shook Pakistani capital Islamabad’s District Judicial Complex, killing 12 people, as per reports

Fact or Fiction?

Soch Fact Check reverse searched the keyframes from the video and found several posts showing the same video

Some posts claim the uniformed men are from the Pakistan Army and others are identifying them as police personnel. Even the post being fact-checked shows a man saying that the men are from the police force, while the caption with the video says they are from the army.

We can confirm that the men are not from the Pakistan Army as the uniform worn by the men in the video is not the one used by the army personnel.
