On 22 January 2023, Pakistani-Canadian columnist Tariq Fatah shared a video on Twitter claiming that it shows Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto his tweet read, which has now been deleted.
In the video, two people can be seen dancing to the upcoming Bollywood movie Zardari dancing at a function.
“Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal @BBhuttoZardari doing what he does best,” Pathaan’s song ‘Besharam Rang’.
Soch Fact Check found the claim to be false. A Google search with relevant keywords “Bilawal Bhutto dancing” led to articles by The Quint and Hindustan Times that identify the man in the video as Mehroz Baig, a media student from Karachi.
We looked for Mehroz Baig’s account on Instagram and found that he (@mehrozebaigofficial) posted the same video taken from a different angle on 12 January 2023.
Baig confirmed to Soch Fact Check that the viral video features him. He is a media student and social media influencer from Karachi. He is followed by 21,300 people on Instagram.
