Claim: A video shows a contingent of the Pakistan Army in Makkah, after Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed a defence pact on 17 September 2025.
Fact: The video is unrelated to the defence pact and likely shows Saudi security personnel, not Pakistani soldiers.
On 29 September, a Facebook user posted a reel that apparently showed Pakistani soldiers in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The text embedded in the video, when translated into English from Urdu, reads:
“God’s gift to the honest Army Chief. After the Pak-Saudi agreement, a contingent of the Pakistan Army was in attendance at the Haram Sharif to take over security duties. Allah Almighty chose Pakistan out of 56 countries.”
The claim surfaced after Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a mutual defence pact on 17 September that considers an attack on either country as an act of aggression against both.
Soch Fact Check has recently debunked other claims related to the defence agreement here and here.
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check reverse-searched keyframes from the video and found that it is unrelated to the signing of the defence pact between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. In fact, this clip appeared online at least six months ago.
A TikTok user posted the video (archive) on 26 March, with the description, “Makkah army parade #makkaharmy #makkah #masjidalharam #army #makkah”. From 0:01 to 0:07, this clip matches the footage from the claim, confirming that it predates the signing of the pact.
The comparison of an identical keyframe from the TikTok video and the clip from the claim is shown below:

On the left is the screenshot from the video in the claim that matches the keyframe from the original video on the right.
Furthermore, “911” and “police” appear imprinted on the uniforms of security personnel in the TikTok video. 911 here is the emergency number for calling the Unified Security Operations Centers (911). “The center operates using the latest unified technical systems to provide optimal services to pilgrims in multiple languages around the clock,” according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the national news agency of Saudi Arabia.
According to SPA, “The Unified Security Operations Centers (911) [was] launched by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with the Quality of Life Program, a key initiative under Saudi Vision 2030, represent a groundbreaking model for advancing security and humanitarian services.” Therefore, the personnel shown in the video are likely part of Saudi Arabia’s larger security force, not Pakistan Army soldiers.
Soch Fact Check, therefore, concludes that the claim is false.
Virality
The Facebook post garnered 66,000 reactions and was reshared 4,600 times.
It was also shared on Facebook here.
On TikTok, the clip was shared here.
Conclusion: The video of security personnel shared in the claim is unrelated to the Saudi-Pakistan defence agreement as it predates the pact which was signed on 17 September.
