Claim: A video shows the proscribed militant group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) targeting Pakistan Army soldiers in December 2025.

Fact: The clip does not show any recent attacks as it appeared online as early as February 2025.

In late December 2025, many users posted a video purportedly showing militant separatist fighters targeting Pakistan Army soldiers in Balochistan. The description of one such post (archive) from 20 December 2025 reads:

#BREAKING: At least 13 Pakistani soldiers eliminated (sic) in two separate attacks by #Baloch fighters in #Panjgur and Zehri (#Khuzdar) of Pakistan-occupied Balochistan. This is the 16th attack by Baloch Fighters this week, with 44 security personnel eliminated so far. Looks bad news”.

The proscribed militant separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed that they targeted the security forces this month, killing 13 soldiers in two attacks in Panjgur and Zehri areas of Balochistan, The Balochistan Post (archive) reported — a publication not accessible from Pakistan. The same report stated that the “allegations could not be independently verified due to restricted access to the affected areas”, while adding that the Pakistani authorities had not yet responded to the BLA’s claims.

Therefore, this article only fact-checks the video circulating online.

Fact or Fiction?

Soch Fact Check reverse-searched keyframes from the video and found that it is old.

An Instagram user posted the same video (archive) on 18 February 2025, confirming that the footage is old. The scenes match in both clips as shown below:

Moreover, the clip from the claim features names of two areas appearing in the bottom-left corner: “Shahrak, Balochistan” and “Pasni, Balochistan”.

Furthermore, Soch Fact Check also found some pictures posted by a Facebook user (archive) on 24 February 2025, with the following description [translated from Dari into English via Google Translate]: “Increasing attacks by Baloch freedom fighters against Pakistani military forces

Nine Pakistani soldiers were wounded in an attack by Baloch freedom fighters today. A few days ago, Baloch freedom fighters released a video of attacks against security forces, showing several explosive attacks with sniper rifles. Dozens of Pakistani soldiers were killed and wounded in the attacks.”

Some of the images, especially those with the location names “Shahrak, Balochistan” and “Pasni, Balochistan” in the bottom-left corner (shown below), match keyframes from the Instagram clip shared in February 2025 as well as the video being fact-checked, confirming that the visuals are not recent.

Although Soch Fact Check did not find the exact origin of the footage, it was found shared online as early as February 2025, confirming that it does not depict any attacks in Balochistan in December 2025.
