Claim: A video shows Maj Gen Faisal Naseer of Pakistan’s spy agency, the ISI, being assaulted in a public setting by transwomen in Thailand over alleged non-payment for services. Some social media users have said it depicts Indian Army officer Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni.
Fact: The video does not show either Pakistan’s Maj Gen Faisal Naseer or India’s Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni. It is actually from December 2025, when an Indian tourist Raj Jasuja — a civilian — was thrashed by a group of transwomen in Thailand’s Pattaya city, allegedly due to a payment dispute over sex work.
On 30 May, 1 June, and 2 June 2026, social media users posted a video of a middle-aged man being thrashed in public with the claim that it showed Maj Gen Faisal Naseer, a high-ranking official of Pakistan’s spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Pakistan’s Maj Gen Faisal Naseer
Maj Gen Naseer is the director-general of the ISI’s internal wing — which is also known as the political wing or simply as ‘C’ — and was promoted to his current rank in July 2022. His position, therefore, is known as DGC. According to Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, he was “nick named as super spy due to his excellent & professional work”.
In October 2022, a few months after his ouster as prime minister through a no-confidence vote, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan publicly levelled serious allegations against Naseer, calling him “Dirty Harry” — a reference to American actor Clint Eastwood’s rogue cop character from the eponymous series — amid other remarks singling out senior military leadership.
The military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), rejected Khan’s “irresponsible and baseless” accusations and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif termed his actions “highly condemnable”. In June 2023, the PTI founder admitted there was no evidence for his allegations against Gen Naseer.
India’s Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni
On the other hand, several other users have claimed that the video shows Indian Army officer Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni being beaten in public by Thai transwomen.
These Facebook clips include a screenshot of what appears to be an article on The Times of India’s website, titled “Indian Army Lieutenant General Rajiv Kumar Sahni thrashed by transwomen in Thailand after allegedly refusing to pay for escort service”.
According to the Indian Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI), Lt Gen Sahni is the Director-General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME. He assumed both roles on 1 October 2025.
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check reverse-searched keyframes from the viral video and found that it did not show either Maj Gen Naseer or Lt Gen Sahni.
According to a video posted on 6 January 2026 on the Facebook page ‘The Smart Local Malaysia,’ the man is a “a 52-year-old Indian tourist” who was “beaten by a group of transwomen in Pattaya, Thailand, after refusing to pay for a service”.
The man attempted to flee by trying to get in a car but was pulled out and attacked, it said, adding, “Emergency responders later found the man with face and head injuries. He has since received first aid at the scene and was taken to Pattamakun Hospital for further treatment.”
The video attributes the source of the footage to X (formerly Twitter) user @SurajKrBauddh, who wrote on 3 January 2026 that an “Indian [was] thrashed in Thailand” and, according to reports, was “hospitalized” at a local hospital.
The Telegraph Online, an Indian media outlet, also posted the video on its Instagram account on 5 January 2026, writing that the incident was “reportedly from 27 December 2025”. It added, “Eyewitnesses told the police that the dispute is believed to have started after the tourist allegedly did not pay the full amount agreed for the service.”
Thai news outlet The Thaiger reported on 29 December 2025 that the man was identified as Raj Jasuja and the 27 December attack took place “allegedly over unpaid sex service”.
“Rescue workers found Jasuja injured and provided first aid before transferring him to Pattamakun Hospital,” the outlet said. “Police plan to investigate further once he files a formal complaint.”
Multiple other Indian media outlets reported the same in articles published in January 2026.
Moreover, the screenshot attributed to The Times of India shown in the videos linked to Lt Gen Sahni appears to be doctored. We did not find any such report published by the outlet.
However, the screenshot is likely doctored by using an actual report (archive) from 4 January 2026 about the Indian tourist and replacing the words “Indian national Raj Jasuja” with “Indian Army Lieutenant General Rajiv Kumar Sahni” in the headline.
Soch Fact Check, therefore, concludes that both claims — that the man is a Pakistani intelligence officer or Indian military officer — are false.
Virality
Soch Fact Check found that both claims were posted dozens of times on different social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, and YouTube.
Videos posted by Indian users falsely claiming the man is Pakistan’s Maj Gen Naseer gained significant traction on Facebook, racking up over 270,000 views so far.
The same claim was also shared on Facebook and Instagram in Persian language as well as on a Turkish website.
On X, the video gained more than 344,100 views.
It was also shared by Indian and Afghan users, accumulating upwards of 3.16 million views.
The claim that the man is India’s Lt Gen Sahni gained significant traction on X, garnering over 1.58 million views.
Conclusion: The video does not show either Pakistan’s Maj Gen Faisal Naseer or India’s Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni. It is actually from December 2025, when an Indian tourist Raj Jasuja — a civilian — was thrashed by a group of transwomen in Thailand’s Pattaya city, allegedly due to a payment dispute over sex work.
