Claim: A viral video shows Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid distributing pamphlets to raise donations for Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
Fact: The footage dates back to August 2017, when it was shared in connection with “Jinnah ka Pakistan”, not the Shaukat Khanum fundraising activity claimed in recent posts.
On 23 October 2026, Galaxy Lollywood shared an Instagram reel showing Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid handing out pink pamphlets to motorists on a busy road.
Text superimposed on the video claimed that Shaan was distributing donation pamphlets for Shaukat Khanum Hospital. The accompanying caption similarly described the activity as an effort to encourage donations towards the hospital.

The same footage circulated across Facebook and Threads, with several posts claiming that Shaan was raising donations specifically for Shaukat Khanum Hospital’s upcoming Karachi facility.
Fact or Fiction?
To investigate the claim, Soch Fact Check extracted keyframes from the viral video and conducted reverse-image searches to trace earlier appearances of the footage. We also carried out keyword searches using relevant terms, examined older social media posts, and compared the circulating video with available recordings.
Our investigation identified an Instagram video posted by FHM Pakistan on 19 August 2017, more than nine years ago.
Comparing frames from the viral footage with the 2017 recording revealed several identical visual details. Shaan is wearing the same green T-shirt and holding pink pamphlets while approaching motorists. The vehicles passing through the scene, including a red car and a silver car, also match, confirming that both videos are from the same incident.

We then examined the caption accompanying FHM Pakistan‘s 2017 upload to establish the video’s original context. It identifies Shaan alongside Ikram ul Haque and describes their activity as spreading the message of “Jinnah ka Pakistan”. The caption makes no mention of Shaukat Khanum Hospital, fundraising, or donations.
We also examined versions of the claim circulating on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, where the older footage was presented as evidence of Shaan raising donations for Shaukat Khanum Hospital, including its Karachi project.
The 2017 upload establishes that the footage predates the recent claims and was shared in a different context. Furthermore, the text on the pamphlets is not visible in the video, making it impossible to determine their contents from the footage alone. The circulating posts provide no evidence that the pamphlets were connected to Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
Virality
The misleading claim circulated widely across Facebook, Instagram, and Threads in October 2026. We identified 41 distinct posts across the three platforms, including 29 Facebook posts and reels, 11 Threads posts, and an Instagram reel.
Conclusion: Soch Fact Check found that the viral video of Shaan Shahid dates back to August 2017, when it was shared by FHM Pakistan in connection with “Jinnah ka Pakistan”. The footage was recirculated in October 2026 with a false claim that the actor was distributing pamphlets to raise donations for Shaukat Khanum Hospital.
