Claim: A video shows members of Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) faking injuries with makeup.
Fact: The video predates the ongoing JAAC protests and was originally shared last year on 29 May 2025.

“Fraudi Action Committee’s fake video production house video. Awami Action Committee is an enemy of the people of Kashmir. They are doing makeup to show the injured and de-ad. Pathetic people. AJK people rejects Fraud Shaukat Mir.

JAAC protesters-police clash
On 7 June 2026, the police clashed with the protesters outside Combined Military Hospital, in Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, who were protesting the killing of a trader named Shahzaib Habib.
Shahzaib died of a gunshot wound during a confrontation with the law enforcement personnel after the AJK government announced a ban on Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) under the anti-terrorism act. The development came after the group demanded the abolition of 12 legislative seats reserved for refugees from Indian-administered Kashmir living in Pakistan, saying the refugees have disproportionate influence, according to a report by AlJazeera.
Shahzaib’s family brought the body for a post-mortem examination at the CMH which led to scores of people gathering outside the premises. The protesters and the family of the deceased demanded that they would not move or bury Habib’s body until the government withdrew its order of proscribing JAAC. Tensions escalated after the police arrived on the scene and a confrontation began which led to the death of seven people, including four policemen, according to AP whereas Al-Jazeera and Reuters reported 11 people had died and 70 were injured during the protest.
According to the police, armed supporters with the JAAC opened fire on the security personnel first who were trying to disperse the protest as they were disrupting access to the hospital for other people. On the other hand, JAAC has denied the accusations, saying that the security personnel opened fire on peaceful protesters.
Till 17 June 2026, several cities in AJK entered the eighth day of a shutter-down strike whereas other areas reported businesses like medical stores and grocery shops and reopening.
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check conducted a reverse-image search of the video which led to a TikTok account named spenkhangk and identified from the profile picture that the account belongs to the man who was filming the video with his front camera. He posted the video in the claim on 29 May 2026 with a caption saying, “#onthisday”.
The user, who identified himself as Kareemullah to Soch Fact Check, uploaded a separate video on 10 June 2026 in which he can be seen clarifying the context of the viral clip. In the 47-second clip, Kareemullah says:
“Assalam o Alaikum, hope you all are well. I posted this video around 10-15 days ago on my account. Now people are commenting on it, saying that this is Kashmir’s issue, but it is not related to that issue. This is from our training, and what you see on our clothes [blood stains], this is just red color, it is not blood. Media people from Karachi are calling and asking me what this is about. I have told them that there is no issue and we have applied red color on ourselves. They suggested that since a lot of people are commenting on this, you should post a clarification video so that’s what I am doing now. There is no issue, we were just training, that is why we used the color red.”
Soch Fact Check contacted Kareemullah to find out more about the training he mentioned in the video. Kareemullah claims that he has been working for the Civil Aviation Authority, Swat since 2005. His statement has been translated into English as follows:
“I had no idea my video was being circulated like this until my peers told me about it. This is from our emergency response training, and you can see it was posted before the Kashmir protests.”
Kareemullah also mentioned that the video is from 2025 and the current version is just a throwback that he recently posted. After a thorough analysis, Soch Fact Check obtained the original video from his profile which was posted on 29 May 2025. The post is from last year and predates the AJK government’s ban on the JAAC, which was outlawed on 5 June 2026, and the ensuing clashes between the police and protesters in Rawalakot on 7 June 2026.
In another video posted on Kareemullah’s account, on 10 June 2026, the men in the video under investigation can be seen standing with an officer who is wearing a “Rescue” jacket.

Men visible in the video under investigation spotted in Kareemullah’s video posted on 10 June 2026
Moreover, the logo of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the background matches with the logo present on its official website. The name “SWAT” can also be seen written in the background.

CAA’s logo and the name ‘SWAT’ visible in the background of the video posted on 10 June 2026
Therefore, Soch Fact Check concludes that the video in the claim predates and, therefore, is unrelated to the ongoing tensions and JAAC protests in AJK.
