Claim: A video shows Iranian strikes on Israel’s energy infrastructure in June 2026.
Fact: The clip is old, from August 2020, and likely shows a market on fire in Ajman, UAE. It is not related to the recent Iranian strikes on Israel.
Several social media users recently posted a video, claiming it shows Iran’s latest attack on Israel’s energy infrastructure.
One such post on Facebook from 8 June stated: “Iran today claimed to have targeted energy facilities in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. The attack came as a new development in the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel.”

An X user also posted the clip on the same day, with the caption stating: “BIG BREAKING
Iran reportedly attacked energy infrastructure in Tel Aviv today.”
The posts circulated soon after Iran launched a missile attack on Israel on 7 June for the first time since the ceasefire took effect in early April 2026. Iran claimed that the attack was in retaliation for Israeli strikes on Lebanon.
In response, Israel also launched strikes on Iran, according to reports from 7 June and 8 June.
This article only fact-checks the footage circulating in June 2026.
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check reverse-searched keyframes from the clip and found that the incident depicted in the footage is old, hence unrelated to Iran’s strikes on Israel in June 2026.
On 6 August 2020, another video of the same incident was posted on YouTube with the caption stating: “Ajman fruits and vegetables market caught in fire. #letusprayforthem”. Scenes from this clip and the one being fact-checked, such as the building on fire and the road sign, match up, indicating the footage recycled in June 2026 is likely old.

On the left is the clip circulating in June 2026, from which scenes of the incident are similar to the one posted on YouTube on 6 August 2020.
A fire engulfed a market in Ajman, UAE in August 2020, causing parts of the market to burn and collapse, according to Reuters.
A Facebook account that roughly translates to “Syrians in UAE” also posted footage of the incident on 5 August 2020. Particularly, from timestamp 0:22 onwards, the scenes in this video are similar to the video being fact-checked. The caption also linked the footage to the fire at a market in Ajman at the time.
Soch Fact Check also found two other videos of the same incident posted on Facebook on 5 August 2020 and 6 August 2020.
Furthermore, geolocating the videos above revealed that the incident took place at coordinates 25.3931536, 55.4794731, in the Ajman area, UAE. Particularly, the street view imagery from April 2016 matches the building and area depicted in the above clips, as shown below.

On the left is the Facebook clip from August 2020, showing the location that matches the area from Google Street View Imagery from April 2016.
However, an analysis of images from Google Street View from December 2021 onward, almost a year and a half after the fire, shows an empty plot at the same coordinates, with no building visible as the one in April 2016.

Street View Imagery showing the location in December 2021, without the building that is depicted as being on fire in clips circulating online in June 2026.
Soch Fact Check, therefore, rates the claim as false.
Virality
The clip was shared on Facebook, with one user posting screenshots of the clip.
The video was also recycled by Pakistani users in March and May 2026. The caption of one such post reads:
“BREAKING:
Iran reportedly strikes again on UAE energy sites near Dubai – sending a message the Gulf can’t be ignored.
Tehran looks ready to respond to any pressure with even more strength”.
On X, Soch Fact Check found the footage was posted at least 25 times in June 2026, with one particular post garnering 79,800 views and 4,800 likes.
Conclusion: The video does not show Iran’s attack on Israel in June 2026. The clip is old and likely shows a fire at a market in Ajman, UAE, in August 2020.
