Claim: Former prime minister and PTI founder, Imran Khan is being shifted from Adiala Jail to the hospital due to poor health conditions.
Fact: Khan is not being shifted to the hospital and he is doing “fine” in terms of his health, as confirmed by PTI lawyer Intazar Hussain Panjutha.
On 11 March 2024, X (formerly Twitter) account Insaf Lawyers forum (@PTI_Lawyer) claimed (archive) that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s founder Imran Khan is being shifted from Adiala Jail to the hospital due to poor health.
The tweet reads,

Imran Khan’s health
According to Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan, the politician reportedly has an eye infection. Speaking to journalists outside Adiala Jail on 12 March, she expressed distrust in the jail doctors and criticised the jail superintendent for not informing the PTI leadership about Imran Khan’s condition. Aleema said she filed an application in court for regular visits by Khan’s personal doctors, Dr Asim Yusuf and Dr Faisal Sultan.
The politician, while incarcerated, had a dental checkup conducted by his personal physician, Dr Sameena Niazi, on 9 March as per a court order. Advocate Khalid Yousuf confirmed it, stating that Imran Khan’s “overall health” is “fine” and that the dentist will submit the report to his sister. The politician had requested the checkup during a court hearing, expressing his doubts over the jail doctor’s ability after which the court had approved his petition for a general physician and dentist for a medical examination and dental checkup.
Fact or Fiction?
The claim is false. PTI lawyer, Intazar Hussain Panjutha confirmed to Soch Fact Check that the news of Imran Khan, being shifted to the hospital is false. “He is fine Alhamdulilah,” the lawyer added.
Panjutha also pointed out that the viral tweet was posted by a “fake account” which does not belong to the Insaf Lawyers Forum. Their official account on X is @InsafLawyersPK.
