Claim: A video shows a donkey entering the parliament of Pakistan.

Fact: The clip is fake and is likely AI-generated.

Several users shared a video purportedly showing a donkey entering the parliament of Pakistan.

In one instance, a user shared this footage on 7 December 2025, claiming it was shared by Al Jazeera.

Fact or Fiction?

Soch Fact Check found no reports of a donkey entering the Pakistani parliament, raising suspicions about the authenticity of footage.

Looking into the claim that was linked to Al Jazeera, we found that a TikTok account of Al Jazeera Mubasher had shared the same video (archive) with the following caption [translated into English from Arabic]:

“A donkey suddenly sneaks into the Pakistani parliament… Is the video real? #AlJazeeraLive

A donkey sneaks into the Pakistani parliament: Is it real? Watch the intriguing video of a donkey sneaking into the Pakistani parliament and see what happens next. #AlJazeeraLive”.

The caption above raised suspicions that the clip was not real.

Soch Fact Check then analysed the clip frame by frame which revealed that it has all the signs typical of content created with AI generation software. For example, at the beginning of this clip, a figure (highlighted below) shifts its shape, morphing into something entirely disfigured, a hallmark of AI-generation software.

Some of the people seated in the rows have missing or distorted heads. Others’ faces are blurred or have visible distortions, making it difficult to identify their facial features, which is another indication that the clip is AI-generated.

Red boxes show figures with highly distorted facial features. Green boxes indicate those with missing and distorted heads.

Reverse-searching the video in the claim led us to a Facebook post (archive) which included a TikTok user name “@arabianspeed1” throughout. Soch Fact Check found that this user uploaded the same footage on TikTok here (archive). At the bottom of the description, a label “Contains AI-generated media” warns viewers that the footage is not real but was created with AI.

Furthermore, this account (which has since been deleted) has uploaded several AI-generated videos of donkeys entering parliamentary sessions, confirming that, like the others, this one is also AI-generated.

Finally, Soch Fact Check also ran the clip through Hive Moderation, an AI-detection tool. It gave an aggregate score of 97.1% which means that “overall, the video is likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content”.

Results from Hive Moderation.

Soch Fact Check also ran the clip through Deepfake-O-Meter and Zhuque AI Detection Assistant. One algorithm from DeepFake-O-Meter, AVSRDD (2025), gave 100% score and three others, yielded scores of 45.1%, 34.0%, and 14.6%. Other detectors gave errors or stated that the detector requires a visible face, but face detection failed on this input” or “No Lip Movement Detected”. This is likely because the video does not feature faces, and the tool was unable to detect AI-generated faces.

Zhuque AI Detection Assistant yielded a low score of 4.63%, meaning the tool stated the video “Not likely to be AI-generated”.

However, our thorough analysis and the fact that Hive Moderation gave a high score of 97.1%, Soch Fact Check confirms the video is AI-generated.
