Fact: @Alisonwills27 is a fake account on X.
On 5 February 2024, this post was shared on X by user @Alisonwills27 with the caption: “My name is Alison Wills. I’m from Canada and I Support Nawaz Sharif”.
Fact or Fiction?
The account’s bio says, “Canada is my home and Pakistan is my Second home”. It follows 1,661 accounts and is followed by 2,850 accounts, out of which, the only non-Pakistani account belongs to a YouTuber, @MrBeast.
In addition to this, from the 1,000 observable tweets, the vast majority of them are about the Pakistani cricket team, the PML-N and their leader Nawaz Sharif, against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and tweets containing several phrases from or entirely in the Urdu language.
Two days later, the same account changed its profile photo to a photograph of the Pakistani cricketer Naseem Shah and the username to @NaseemShah2071.
Virality
The post on X was viewed 151,400 times and received more than 2000 interactions.
Conclusion: X account @Alisonwills27 is not a Canadian woman endorsing PML-N and Nawaz Sharif.
