Claim: A video shows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif licking Donald Trump’s shoe during a meeting.

Fact: The claim is false. The viral clip is likely doctored.

On 10 March, Facebook user Wasif Ahmed shared a video showing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif licking US President Donald Trump’s shoe with the following caption: “ایک خنزیر دوسرے خنزیر کے جوتے چاہتا ہوا”

[Translation: One pig licking another pig’s shoes.]

Fact or Fiction?

Soch Fact Check first reviewed credible news sources but did not find any relevant reports.

However, we did identify images from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir’s meeting with the US president at the White House on 25 September 2025. It appears that footage or imagery from this meeting was used to create the viral clip as Donald Trump’s and Shehbaz Sharif’s attire in the original meeting matches what is seen in the video. However, the clip being fact-checked is heavily pixelated and lacks original audio, which suggests that it is a manipulated version.

A reverse-image search further traced the earliest instance of the video to a Facebook post shared on 17 October 2025 by the account Zafar G. This clip was the only vertical version we found online. It included a disclaimer stating: “This video is edited for entertainment purpose only and it should not be taken seriously.” This indicated that the viral clip is likely doctored.

We reviewed the account and found similar edited videos that also carried the same disclaimer.

Soch Fact Check also tested the video in the claim with DeepFake-O-Meter, which analysed it using multiple AI-based detection models. The results are as follows:

DeepFake-O-Meter results

We first used the AVSRDD (2025) model, which is an AVSR-based audio and visual deepfake detection method that leverages speech correlation. The model uses dual-branch encoders for audio and video to support independent detection of each modality. It rated the likelihood of the video being fake at 100%.

Next, the AltFreezing (2023) model was used. It is a deep-learning tool designed to detect fake videos. It works by analysing both visual details and changes to spot signs of manipulation. The model estimated a 95.3% likelihood that the video is fake.

Given the absence of credible reporting, the disclaimer on the earliest upload, and DeepFake-O-Meter analysis indicating manipulation, Soch Fact Check concludes that the video is likely doctored.

Virality

The viral clip was shared here, here, and here on Facebook. Archived here, here, and here.

Conclusion: The viral clip showing PM Shehbaz Sharif licking Trump’s shoe is likely doctored.
