Claim: A video shows Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim presenting Shehbaz Sharif with a book about Imran Khan on his recent official visit to Malaysia.

A video of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with his Malaysian counterpart recently went viral with the claim that the prime minister was presented with a book about Imran Khan.
The video is a collage of clips showing the Pakistani PM picking up and flipping through the pages of a book, with images of the cover of “Let There Be Justice: The Political Journey of Imran Khan” by B. J. Sadiq.

Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check conducted a keyword search using the terms “Malaysian Prime Minister,” “book,” and “Shehbaz Sharif.” This led to a press release from Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, dated 4 October 2025, titled “Official Visit by the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Malaysia (5-7 October 2025).”
Sharif went to Malaysia on an official visit from 5 to 7 October at Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s invitation. This visit marked the prime minister’s first official visit to Malaysia since assuming office in 2024. According to Sharif, the two leaders “held wide-ranging discussions on ways to further strengthen our historic partnership — focusing on trade and investment, climate, defence, education, and tourism.” Dawn reported that they also had an in-depth discussion on regional and global developments, including the situation in the Middle East and South Asia.
The Malaysian foreign ministry’s press release noted that the Pakistani PM would present “an Urdu version of the book ‘SCRIPT: For a Better Malaysia’ to Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.” Sharif stated that the two leaders together launched an Urdu translation of Ibrahim’s book Script. The book details the Malaysian PM’s vision of sustainability, innovation, research and development.
“These are the great virtues and values that brother Ibrahim has inked in this script and I think it will speak across borders for this generation and coming generations,” Sharif said, according to Dawn.
The Government of Pakistan’s official X account also shared an image of PM Shehbaz and his Malaysian counterpart holding a book together. The caption of the post stated:
“Putrajaya : Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif launches Urdu translation of “Script” , a book written by Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Sharif described the book as “a guiding framework for sustainability, mutual respect, compassion, innovation, research and development, progress, prosperity, and mutual trust,” reported The Express Tribune,
Several other news outlets reported the same.
