On 3 June 2021, journalist Hasan Zaidi tweeted that Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has ordered a suspension of salaries for Sindh government employees who do not get vaccinated.

Dawn also published a similar report, stating that Shah had made the decision during a meeting of Sindh’s Covid-19 task force. According to the report, Shah had given employees one month to get vaccinated, following which salaries would be suspended for unvaccinated individuals starting from July.
