Claim: A clip from an Al Arabiya broadcast confirms that India supports the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) against Pakistan.
Fact: The news clip does not support what is stated in the caption. The caption is misleading.
Facebook user Ali K Chisti posted the 24-second clip of the news broadcast. The video and caption did not include any translation or subtitles for what the anchor is saying, but the accompanying text stated :
“For the 1st time, Arab media confirms that India is supporting BLA terrorists against Pakistan. The Pakistan military killed 17 BLA militants in the last 2 days.”

The whole news broadcast text on the screen is translated as :
[Red Breaking News (Bottom Corner) Kuwaiti Health Ministry: 7 urgent surgeries performed on those injured in the Iranian attack.]
Black Ticker (Bottom Corner) US Army: Iranian drones failed in an attempt to attack our forces in Kuwait.

The presenter on screen is stated as saying :
[“The Pakistani army has announced the killing of 17 militants, describing them as being backed by India, during a series of security operations. The operations were based on intelligence information in the Balochistan province, located in the southwest of the country, and it was confirmed that weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials were seized during these operations]
Train Blast in Balochistan
On 24 May 2026, The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) , a separatist group, carried out a blast targeting a train carrying military personnel. Authorities said the train was on its way from Quetta to Pashewar when a vehicle with explosives hit the train, triggering the blast. This blast took place in the southwestern province of Balochistan and caused the death of 24 people, while more than 50 people were injured.
Fact or Fiction?
In order to investigate the clip, Soch Fact Check had to verify if the Pakistani Army published the news about killing 17 militants in a counter terrorism operation. Using a reverse-image search, we found news reports from 2 June 2026, and according to these reports the t Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, was the one to give this information.
Hence, we can verify that the caption is misleading, as the news channel only reported on what the government had commented, as seen below. The news slide is quoted as saying “Security forces eliminate 17 Indian-backed militants in Balochistan – Pakistan”. This matches what was said by other outlets, and in the ISPR’s broadcast, debunking the misleading caption posted by the Facebook user.

On ISPR’s website we found the official statement on 2 June 2026 by the Pakistan Army, which was then broadcasted by Al Arabiya. Hence, the caption is a misrepresentation of what was actually said on the news channel.

Virality
Comparing Facebook, and Instagram, we see more traction on Facebook as Ali K Chisti’s reel saw 920 likes and 88 reshares. Some Facebook reels saw a dip in interactions with 10 likes and 17 reshares. Meanwhile on Instagram, the post only has 2 likes.
On X, Soch Fact Check found more posts linked to this misleading claim, with a high view count of 23.6K views. Meanwhile, the least amount of views was 81 views, however on closer inspection we saw more interaction in the comments by Pakistani accounts.
Soch Fact Check has done an article based on this specific attack, as there has been a lot of misinformation around this incident.
Conclusion: The caption is misleading and does not match what is being said in the news broadcast, and the news actually being shared was confirmed to Al Arabiya by the Pakistan Army.
