Claim: A video shows a group of people in Israel standing and panicking during a barrage of missile strikes as Iran launched its retaliatory attacks in June 2025.
Fact: The video was generated through artificial intelligence (AI).
On 22 and 23 June 2025, multiple Facebook users shared a video they claimed shows Iran’s attacks on Israel amid a major escalation between the two Middle-Eastern countries last month (archived here, here, and here). The caption of one of the posts reads as follows:
“دل خوش کر دینے والی نیوز🚨 ایران نے جو کہا وہ کر دیکھایا 🇹🇯✊🏽 اے ایران تیری جرات تیری غیرت تیری خودداری تیری عظمت تیری بہادری تیرے حوصلے کو سلام ❤️ آج رات بہت اہم ہے آئے اللہ پاک ایران کی حفاظت فرما اور یہودیوں کے مقابلے میں ایران کو فتح نصیب فرما
[Heartwarming news🚨 Iran did what it said 🇹🇯✊🏽 Oh Iran, salute to your daringness, your honour, your self-respect, your greatness, your bravery, your courage ❤️ Tonight is very important. O Allah, protect Iran and grant Iran victory over the Jews]”
The video shows a group of people in shock with ongoing missile strikes and buildings ablaze in the background. A woman is heard screaming, “Oh God! My God, what is happening?”
Iran-Israel war
Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Iran in early June 2025, claiming to have targeted the country’s nuclear facilities and military assets. The Islamic Republic responded with retaliatory attacks. The conflict came to an end in less than two weeks when US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire to what he said was “THE 12 DAY WAR”.
Over 600 people were killed in Iran, according to its health ministry, while the Israeli government announced 28 fatalities.
Iran suffered significant losses, with several high-ranking officials — including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) top brass — killed and key parts of the country’s nuclear infrastructure damaged. It also lost over a dozen of its nuclear scientists.
The US directly entered the conflict on 22 June, when Trump ordered strikes on three key Iranian nuclear sites, namely Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, while coordinating closely with Israel.
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check reverse-searched keyframes from the viral video but did not find that it was reported or published by any reputable media outlets.
However, we did come across the video rehashed by multiple users on different social media platforms. In some of these posts, we observed a watermark on the bottom-right corner reading “VEO,” which indicates that the clip was generated using Veo 3, Google’s video-generation model that uses AI.
Google had announced on 30 May 2025 that it has added a visible watermark to all videos generated using Veo 3.
This confirms that the video we’re investigating was generated using Veo 3, making the claim false.
Virality
Soch Fact Check found the video circulating here, here, and here, where it gained over 76,000, 24,000, and 23,000 views, respectively.
Conclusion: The video is AI-generated.
