Claim: Aaj TV reported that Imran Khan gave a public statement commenting on the viral accusations alleging that 4 Pakistani actresses had extra-marital relationships with military officers.

Fact: PTI Media spokesperson Azhar Mashwani and Dr Arsalan Khalid have both declared this statement fake, and confirmed that Imran Khan did not comment on the allegations.

On 3 January 2023, a screenshot of an Aaj TV news bulletin was shared on social media claiming that Imran Khan has recently given a statement addressing the allegations made against four Pakistani actresses regarding the nature of their relationship with some officials in the armed forces. 

This statement appeared in the news ticker section during the 8pm bulletin on Aaj TV. 

“Ab in kay khilaf 4 auraton kay scandal saamnay agaye hain… Be shak Allah ki pakar mazboot hai, woh na-insafi nahi karta.” [Translation: Now scandals about them and 4 women have surfaced… Undoubtedly, Allah has a strong hold, He never does injustice.]

Fact or Fiction?

Azhar Mashwani, one of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) media coordinators, tweeted that this statement quoted by Aaj TV was fake. To further confirm the fact, Soch Fact Check reached out to Dr Arsalan Khalid, the secretary of PTI’s social media and Imran Khan’s focal person on digital media during his time in the Prime Minister’s office. 

Dr Khalid clarified that this is an entirely fake statement and that Imran Khan has not commented on the recent allegations made against Pakistani female celebrities.

According to some statistics, Aaj TV had 105,000 estimated page visits on its website in December 2022.

Conclusion: Imran Khan did not give any statement on the allegations made against Pakistani female celebrities and their alleged ties with military generals.
