Claim: A clip shows PTI MNA Shahid Khattak daring the government to hang Imran Khan in an interview.
Fact: The audio in the clip is AI-generated.
As governor’s rule was imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following PTI’s Long March in early October, several clips have been posted on social media showing PTI MNA Shahid Khattak threatening the government to hang Imran Khan. His exact words in the video are transcribed below:
“If their program is to hang Imran Khan, then let them try. If Imran Khan is hanged, the retaliation even the generation after them will remember. If they have the guts, then hang Khan.”
Facebook user, Ifran Ul Haq posted the video below with the Urdu caption:

Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check ran a reverse-image search on the frame that shows MNA Shahid Ahmed Khattak, to find the full interview. Upon this search, there were posts found on X and Facebook of an interview which included the matching keyframe of the MNA, timed at 56 seconds, and it showed Khattak saying:
“Bismillah, the only, and most powerful being is Allah. After Him, power belongs in the hands of the people, not the select few. The ones who believe they are all powerful on this earth, and (god forbid) are on the same path as the Pharaoh, are mistaken if they believe the people will sit back and let this happen. Do they think they can impose governor-rule and the public will not react? No, they will not tolerate it. I am alerting you all, beyond that it is up to you. If you want to, you can impose it at your volition. But know one thing, we will also remove it the way we deem best.”
There was no mention of Khattak challenging the government to hang the PTI founder in these longer versions. Moreover, there are no official news reports covering any such statement either.
AI Detection Tool Results
We ran the video through AI detection tools to verify the authenticity of the audio in the video being fact-checked.
When Soch Fact Check ran the video through DeepFake-O-Meter for further verification, all but one of the scanners gave the video a high score on the likelihood of being AI-generated. As seen in the report, six scanners gave a high score for AI-generation: AVSRDD, LIPINC, XCLIP, Tall and DSP-FWA. All detected different evidence for AI-generation. The percentage and their functions have been stated below for clarity:
- AVSRDD gave a score of 100% – this is an audiovisual deepfake detection that takes into account the correlation of visual and audio cues by comparing discrepancies between audio and video.
- LIPINC displays a result of 100% – this is used for an advanced AI framework designed to detect lip-syncing deepfake videos by analyzing subtle irregularities in the mouth region. This will explain Shahid Khattak’s facial movements displaying irregularities when he appears to be laughing, especially in his jaw movements, or the way his eyes do not move in a natural manner throughout.
- XCLIP detected a score of 93.3% as it detects deepfakes and actions in videos by analysing motions in consecutive frames, proving the audio has been generated by AI.
- TALL (Thumbnail Layout) gave a score of 92% – this is a high-efficiency video face forgery detection model. As only the speech was changed, and not his face it can be that a full 100% was detected, but it is still a high score.
- LSDA was the only detector to give a moderate score of 60.6%. Here, it is likely the detector did not identify enough subtle inconsistencies between frames as the clip is only 10 seconds.

The second scanner we ran the video through is Hive Detect, where the audio was detected 41.2% likely to have AI-generated speech.
The results from both AI generation tools indicate the audio to be AI-generated, supporting the conclusion that PTI MNA never threatened the Government to hang Imran Khan.

The video was viral on all three social media platforms, where the video was shared the most on Facebook
On X, the video saw an interaction between 1.5K views, whereas on Facebook the footage hit 6.7K views and 132 likes.
On Instagram, it received 7416 views.
Conclusion: The audio of a clip showing MNA Shahid Khattak daring the government to hang PTI’s incarcerated founder, Imran Khan, is AI-generated. The original video does not contain any such comments.
