On 12 September 2026, an account on X named Imran Khan Sipahi shared a video of a woman slapping a man sitting on a bench. The caption reads:
غيرقانونی روڈ پر ريڑھی لگانے پر ڈپٹی کمشنر صاحبہ کا غصہ۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔”

Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check has previously debunked this claim as the same video went viral back in July 2025.
Soch Fact Check reverse-searched keyframes of the viral video and found that it was shared as early as 5 October 2024, on a Facebook page named ‘Live News’. According to the page’s ‘About’ section, the account is based in Srinagar, Indian-administered Kashmir. The video was captioned:
“Zahid mircha from Sopore be aware from him he had scammed many peoples #srinagarkashmir #generalpublic.”

The clip was shared by several other accounts named Faiz Fayyaz and Angel Aqsa on 6 October 2024 and 5 October 2024, respectively. Both these profiles are also based in Srinagar, according to their ‘About’ section, and they shared a longer version of the videos whereas the claim included a cropped version.
In the full video, a woman can be seen hitting a man. While what she says is not entirely intelligible, she mentions that the man was withholding a salary. He had demanded more cash from her brother, which they had given him and added that the man currently owes them “1 lac, 90 thousand something.” Towards the end of the video, another person can be heard saying that the same man has been known to extort money from two to four other people in the area.
A quick Google-search revealed that Sopore is a town located in the Baramulla district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. This suggests that the video likely originated outside of Pakistan.
A keyword search to check if such an incident was reported in the news did not yield any results.
While Soch Fact Check was unable to verify the exact origin of the video, we conclude that it likely does not show any assistant commissioner from Pakistan. This is mainly because the video first appeared on an account originating from Indian-administered Kashmir. In addition, the language being spoken for most part in the video differs from Urdu, Punjabi, or Siraiki, which are among some of the commonly spoken languages in the province.
Virality
Soch Fact Check first came across a viral X post with as many as 802,600 views and 4,000 shares. It garnered more reach on Facebook where it received 165,000 views and 79,000 views on separate posts.
Conclusion: The claim by Pakistani social media accounts that a video shows an assistant commissioner hitting a man for illegal roadside vending is false. The viral video likely originated in Indian-administered Kashmir, and shows a woman confronting a man who apparently swindled her for money.
