Claim: CCTV footage shows the moment two men opened fire on TikTok star Ayesha Gilamana’s car and killed her.

Fact: The clip is from a separate incident, and it is unrelated to Gilamana’s murder.

On 16 August, a Facebook page named World NewsPk shared CCTV footage of a car that was attacked while turning a corner in the street. It shows two men running towards the car and opening fire before fleeing from the scene.

A text block on the video reads:

سی سی ٹی وی فوٹیج منظر عام پر مشہور”

“ٹک ٹاکر عائشہ گلامانہ اپنے ڈرائیور سمیت قتل

[Translation: “CCTV footage surfaces; famous TikToker Ayesha Gilamana murdered along with her driver.”]

Social media influencer Ayesha Gilamana shot dead

On 14 August, a social media influencer named Shamsoo Bibi, also known as Ayesha Gilamana, was killed in the city of Taxila, Punjab by unknown men. Soch Fact Check obtained a copy of the first-information report (FIR) from Arab News reporter Naimat Khan.

The FIR cited Gilamana’s father Fazal Sahibzada as saying that the 28 year-old TikTok star received a phone call on the day of her murder from a man named Kashif who told her to come outside her house immediately. Gilamana left with her 15 year-old sister Aseema and brother Naimatullah. Later, Sahibzada received a phone call that Gilamana had been shot dead and his other daughter had been severely injured.

An FIR filed by Ayesha Gilamana’s father Fazal Sahibzada on 14 August 2026.

He identified her body at THQ Hospital, Taxila. Sahibzada quoted Naimatullah telling him that two unknown men between the ages of 30-35 opened fire on the car near a petrol pump. Bullets struck Gilamana’s neck and killed her on the spot which also caused the car to smash into another vehicle which injured Aseema.

In the FIR, Sahibzada further stated that Gilamana had financial dealings with two men named Kausar and Javed (alias Shaheen) who were not returning her money and were also giving her death threats. He also accused Kashif, the man who called the deceased before she left her house, of being involved in her murder.

On 17 August, Geo News reported that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing. The channel’s Rawalpindi correspondent Shabbir Dar quoted the police as saying that the detainees are close relatives of the three men nominated in the FIR.

Fact or Fiction?

Soch Fact Check first observed the video under investigation and noticed that some key landmarks mentioned in the FIR were missing.

According to the report, the incident took place near Attock Petrol Pump, located on the Bypass G.T Road whereas the video shows the incident taking place in a narrow street with no petrol pumps in sight.

Soch Fact Check then conducted a reverse-image search to trace the original source of the video which led to more social media links sharing the claim under investigation. However, a Facebook page named Attock had shared the same clip on 13 August, which predates the claim as Gilamana was killed on 14 August.

The caption of the post reads:

A keyword search of “two men killed in Attock” also led to news reports by The Nation and Urdu Point, dated 15 August and 14 August, respectively. Both reports included the names of the two victims mentioned in the Facebook caption. Moreover, they also stated that the incident happened in the vicinity of Rangoo police station, Attock.

The keyword search of “Malhoo Mor” on Google Maps also led to the same location visible in the video in the claim. According to the map, the street is located in Kamalpur Musa, a village in Attock.

Satellite image of Malhoo Morr on Google Maps and the footage in the claim show the same landmark on the corner of the street.

Soch Fact Check then contacted an official working at the Rangoo police station in Attock. The officer, who requested anonymity, confirmed the same details regarding the names of the victims mentioned in the Facebook caption and local news reports. He also emphasised that the CCTV footage is unrelated to the murder of the social media influencer.

The different location, old date, and the statement from a police official confirms that the viral CCTV footage shared in the claim does not show Gilamana’s killing.

Virality

Soch Fact Check first came across a viral Facebook post with as many as 2,300 likes and 124,000 views. It garnered more reach on the same platform where it received 111,000 and 342,000 views via separate posts.

The CCTV footage was also run on Geo News’ Instagram page and ARY News’ YouTube channel.

False CCTV footage of Ayesha Gilamana’s murder run on Geo News’ Instagram page and ARY News’ YouTube channel.

Conclusion: The CCTV footage shared in the claim does not show TikTok star Ayesha Gilamana’s murder. The video predates her killing, and likely shows an entirely separate, unrelated shooting which took place in Attock, Punjab .
