Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check reverse-image searched the visual to find any official sources that may have reported that the former Prime Minister was admitted to PIMS for high blood pressure. No such image has been found.
However, on 17 August 2026 news outlets reported that per a report submitted by Adiala Jail Superintendent of Police (SP) to the Supreme Court (SC) expressed concerns about Khan’s blood pressure. But the health update was submitted a day before the court was scheduled to hear Khan’s plea to be treated at Islamabad’s Shifa International Hospital. There was no reference to Khan being treated at PIMS for high blood pressure. These consultations took place at Adiala Jail, and were then documented and given to the Supreme Court.
For further verification, Soch Fact Check reached out to Aleema Khan, Imran Khan’s sister, to see if she could verify this image. Her comment is as follows:
“This image shown to me is totally fake obviously.”
Soch Fact Check reached out to government officials to confirm if Imran Khan had been treated at PIMS Hospital in the month of August, but did not receive any response.
HUMAN ANALYSIS
Soch Fact Check observed certain visual anomalies in the image that was allegedly taken in PIMS. Firstly, above the doctors’ head there is a blurry or patchy area, indicating something has been altered in the image. The light and composition in this image is irregular and seem unnatural, especially near Khan’s face. There seems to be a green tinge noticeable on his face, especially his forehead and eyes, and this region is more pixelated compared to the other image.

AI DETECTION TOOLS
According to Google DeepMind, SynthID embeds digital watermarks directly into AI-generated images, audio, text, and video. The watermarks are embedded across Google’s generative AI consumer products, and are imperceptible to humans but can be detected by SynthID’s technology.
Soch Fact Check ran this image through OpenAI’s tool designed to check if it was created using the American company’s artificial intelligence tools. The results confirmed that a SynthID watermark originating from OpenAI was found in the image, proving that an existing picture has been generated by AI.
