On 21 June 2026, a Facebook account named Abbas Abas shared an interview clip of MPA Hina Parvez Butt, and claimed that she shared the story of how her father made the first deep freezer in Asia. The caption reads:

Translation: [We didn’t even know about this invention 😄 My father built the first deep freezer in Asia when people used to put Coke bottles in ice to cool them-Hina Pervez Butt.]
Several other Facebook accounts shared the interview clip and made a similar claim.
Fact or Fiction?
Taking cues from the emblem in the top-left corner reading ‘Long Story Short,’ Soch Fact Check conducted a keyword search of “hina parvez butt long story short interview” on YouTube. It led to an interview titled “Hina Pervaiz Butt’s Untold Journey with Farwa Waheed | Long Story Short Episode 0001,” posted in collaboration with two channels named Farwa Waheed, an anchorperson at Aik News, and Hina Parvez Butt on 6 June 2026.
Butt recounts the memory of her father building a deep freezer after Waheed asks her why she opted for politics instead of joining the family business. The transcript of their conversation has been translated in English below and reads as follows:

Waheed: When you worked with him [Hina’s father] in business, then why didn’t you continue with him? Why politics? A lot of people must’ve asked, “Why politics?” Now, I am also asking.

Butt: So, they made the first freezer. They were the first… like you say entrepreneurs, they revolutionized the industry. They made the first deep freezer with their own hands, and when they used to go to shops, they’d tell them to keep this deep freezer and they would give them money! But the people who would keep the Coke bottles in ice, would say, “What is this?” They used to make fun of him. And they never lost their sense of confidence.

While Butt did claim that her father made the first deep freezer, she did not say he was the first person to build one in Asia, leading us to conclude that the claim under investigation is false.

Soch Fact Check first came across a viral post on Facebook which garnered 21,000 views. It also received 895 likes and 129 reshares.
It was also circulated on X, with one post being viewed over 138,200 views.
Conclusion: Butt did not say her father built the first deep freezer in Asia anywhere in her interview with Farwa Waheed. The social media captions with her interview clip are false.
