Claim: A video of people dressed up as zombies, along with Pakistani actors Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat, shows celebrations marking the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq.

Fact: The clip is from a concert where the two actors promoted their upcoming movie ‘ZOMBEID’.

On 10 May 2026, a Pakistani journalist named Harmeet Singh posted a video (archive) featuring Pakistani actors Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat addressing the audience from a stage. They are accompanied by a group of performers dressed as zombies. The user claimed that the video is from an event to celebrate the one year anniversary of Pakistan’s May 2025 military conflict with India, termed ‘Marka-e-Haq’.

Singh wrote in the caption:

وہ پوچھنا یہ تھا کہ کیا واقعی معرکہِ حق کے موقع پر زومیز کی یہ پرفارمنس کی گئی؟”

Translation: [ I want to ask if zombies really perform at a Marka-e-Haq event?]

Journalist Sabee Kazmi also shared the video (archive) and wrote in the caption:

یہ معرکہ حق یعنی قرآن سے لیا ہوا نام ، بنیان المرسوس کا جشن ہے یا امریکی ہیلووین کا ؟”

“یہ شریف خاندان نے بیچ میں اپنا عوام کا خون چوسنے کا عملی مظاہرہ کیا ہے۔

Translation: [Marka-e-Haq i.e. a name taken from the Quran. Is this Bunyan ul Marsoos’ celebration or an American Halloween? The Sharif family has staged a practical demonstration of sucking the blood of the common people in the middle of it.]

A Facebook page named All About PTI also shared the video with the same claim.

Marka-e-Haq

On 10 May 2026, Pakistan army commemorated one year since the four-day military conflict with India. Last year, the state named the period of conflict starting from 22 April 2025 – the date of the Pahalgam attack in India – till 10 May 2025 – the conclusion of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos following a ceasefire–  as “Marka-e-Haq”.

A ceremony was held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi where the Chief ofArmy Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir paid tribute to the people who were martyred in Indian strikes. “All martyrs of Marka-e-Haq and their bereaved families are the pride and honor of our nation. Your sacrifices are the guarantor of our freedom and an eternal debt upon us. On behalf of the nation and the armed forces of Pakistan, I salute all the Ghazis who wrote history on the battlefield that future generations will take pride in. We regard the sacrifices of our martyrs as a sacred trust, our strength as a responsibility, and our victory as a blessing from Almighty Allah.” he remarked.

Fact or Fiction?

Since the video features famous actors like Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat, Soch Fact Check visited their Instagram accounts to see if they have posted any pictures from the event. On 9 May 2026, Hayat posted a carousel of pictures from the event. The first picture features her and Mustafa with the same artists dressed up as zombies.

Mehwish Hayat’s Instagram post on 9 May 2026

More pictures included them standing on the stage as they appear in the video being fact-checked. The zombie artists in the background could also be seen in Hayat’s Instagram post.

Zombie artists seen in the video shared in the claim are also visible in Hayat’s Instagram post from 9 May 2026

Referencing her upcoming movie ZOMBEID, Hayat wrote in the caption, “Zombies ne hamein chaaron taraf se ghair liya hai ! Kia Aapko bhi?? Get ready for ZOMBEID this eid ul azha.”

[Translation: “The zombies have surrounded us! What about you? Get ready for ZOMBEID this eid ul azha.”]

On the same date, Fahad Mustafa also posted pictures and a video from the night. The video’s caption reads, “About last night!”

To find out more about the event, Soch Fact Check conducted a keyword search on Instagram by using the words “Fahad Mustafa Mehwish Hayat.” One page named CFR Studio posted the same video from the claim. The post’s caption reads, “Fahad Mustafa, Mehwish Hayat and Atif Aslam concert.”

Two other accounts posted clips from the event, claiming that it shows Mehwish Hayat and Fahad Mustafa at Atif Aslam’s concert at Moin Khan Academy in Karachi on 8 May to promote their upcoming movie. In one of the videos, Mustafa can be seen engaging in banter with the audience as he says in Urdu, “Ab Atif Aslam nahi aasakte, Atif Aslam ko zombies ne khaalia hai.” (Translation: Now Atif Aslam cannot come, the zombies have eaten him.”) This confirms that he was present at the concert to promote his movie, not to talk about Marka-e-Haq.

None of the videos show Fahad Mustafa, Mehwish Hayat or any other person talking about Marka-e-Haq. All the findings confirm that the clip is from a concert, and it was not a celebration of Pakistan victory against India last year.
