Claim: Image shows journalist Imran Riaz Khan sitting with former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sons in London.

Fact: The image is likely AI-generated.

On 22 April 2026, a Facebook page named PK Point shared an image in a public Facebook group called Imran Riaz Khan. The picture shows the journalist sitting with former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sons, Kasim and Suleiman Khan, in London. The caption of the post reads:

“اپنے ملک سے جلاوطن نڈر صحافی عمران ریاض خان کا لندن میں عمران خان صاحب کے بیٹوں سے ملاقات خوشگوار ماحول میں-“

Translation: [Imran Riaz Khan, a fearless journalist exiled from his country, met with Imran Khan’s sons in London in a pleasant atmosphere.]

This article is only fact-checking the image, not the claim in the caption.

Imran Riaz Khan, a YouTuber and former anchorperson, announced his relocation to London last year, on 31 January 2025. A family member told Geo News that it had “become impossible for him to live normally” as he was facing serious “dangers to his life” in Pakistan. He has garnered millions of followers on his YouTube channel, mainly PTI supporters, in the last few years.

Riaz also went missing after the police arrested him at Sialkot airport on 11 May 2023, two days after protests broke out following former prime minister Imran Khan’s arrest. Later, a law officer told the Lahore high court that Riaz had been released, but his whereabouts remained unknown. On 16 May 2023, the journalist’s father, Muhammad Riaz, filed an FIR against “unidentified persons” for his son’s alleged abduction.

After four months, the high court gave then Punjab Inspector General (IG), Dr Usman Anwar, “a last opportunity” to recover Riaz by 26 September 2023. However, just a day before this deadline, Riaz’s lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, announced that he has brought the journalist back home.

Fact or Fiction?

Soch Fact Check found no such image shared on the X accounts of Imran Riaz Khan and Kasim Khan.

A few visual discrepancies, like the lack of shadows around the vase, the white pitcher on the table, and the smooth quality of the image, suggests that the image is likely AI-generated. A close look at their hands also shows the fingers are distorted and blend unnaturally into the cups they hold.

Hive Moderation’s AI-Generated Content Detection tool gave a rating of 99.9%, saying that the image is most likely AI-generated.

Soch Fact Check also ran the image through Image Whisperer, another AI-generated content detection tool. It detected manipulation, saying, “Two independent specialist AI detectors indicate this image is likely AI-generated: the Flux probe (87%) and the GPT Image 1.5 probe (60%).”

The tool also provided the following reasoning for its verdict:

“The lighting across the three subjects is generally consistent, suggesting a bright, overcast day. However, there is a notable sharpness mismatch regarding the white thermal carafe and the flower vase; these objects appear significantly sharper and have different lighting characteristics compared to the men and the background, suggesting they may have been composited into the scene. The table surface also exhibits a lack of natural shadow or reflection from the objects placed upon it, which is physically incongruous.”

The results from detection tools confirm that the image is likely AI-generated.
