Claim: A video shows an army officer addressing crowds at a PTI procession, saying that Imran Khan’s release is in the hands of the people. The public will decide; no office or corps commander will make this decision, he adds.
Fact: The video appears to be AI-generated.
A video circulating online shows an army officer delivering a speech at a PTI procession. It contains the following Urdu text: “عمران خان کا رہائی کا فیصلہ عوام کے ہاتھوں میں ہے ۔ عمران خان کبھی اپنے لیے نہیں کہی گا کہ نکلو عوام کب نکلے گا ؟”
[Translation: The decision on Imran Khan’s release is in the hands of the people. Imran Khan will never say for himself when he will be released; the people will decide when he comes out.]
In the clip, the officer says [transcript produced in Roman Urdu]:
“Aaj ka faisla na koi daftar karay ga, na koi corps commander, aaj ka faisla karay gi yeh awaam. Sun rahay ho. Jo bhi iss mulk se wafa-daari rakhta hai aaj uska din hai. Kon kon hai jo 804 ke saath khara hai.”
[Translation: Today’s decision will not be made by any office or corps commander; today, the people will make the decision. Are you listening? Anyone who is loyal to this country, today is their day. Who stands with 804?]
The crowd responds with chanting, “Hum hain, hum hain” [We are, we are].
The officer then continues, “tou phir apni-” [Then your-].
Fact or Fiction?
The video appeared suspicious as serving soldiers or army officers are not typically seen addressing political processions. A keyword search to check if such a procession took place did not yield any results.
Most importantly, several audio and visual inconsistencies suggested the video is likely AI-generated. For instance, the crowd is positioned behind the speaker whereas in an actual procession, the speaker would be facing the crowd. The people in the background appear static, while the flags move. This reflects AI’s struggle to render complex crowd scenes accurately.

Visual inconsistencies in the clip
The officer’s facial expressions remain unnaturally consistent throughout the speech. Syncing human speech with facial movements is a major challenge for AI; when people speak, their cheeks lift, jaws shift, chins tighten, and eyes convey subtle cues. AI often fails to reproduce these micro-expressions, which results in mismatches between speech and facial movements. Additionally, his eye movements appear unnatural at certain points.
The uniform he wears does not match official Pakistan Army attire. The left pocket does not show legible text, while the right pocket reads “MAJ.ISPR” with “DG” at the bottom.

Visual inconsistencies in the clip
This format is incorrect compared to real officer uniforms, which typically feature multiple badges and flags that are absent from the speaker’s uniform.
These visual inconsistencies indicate the use of an AI text-to-video model as they particularly struggle to depict text and logos accurately.
Virality
The video gained significant traction on Facebook receiving over 18,000 likes and 3,000 shares. It was shared here (archive).
Conclusion: The viral video of an army officer addressing a PTI procession is likely AI-generated.
