Claim: A soldier has recorded a video urging Field Marshal Asim Munir to release Imran Khan while accusing him of undermining respect for the law and the constitution.

Fact: The viral clip is not real; it is likely AI-generated.

Recently, a reel was shared on Facebook in which a soldier has recorded a video of himself, saying:

“Abhi bhi mauqa hai ke Imran Khan ko azaad kardo. General Asim Munir sahab aap ne qanoon aur aain ki hurmat khatam kardi hai. Issay mazaaq bana rakha hai. Aap ka rawaya aisay hai jaisay aap zehani tawazun kho baithay ho.”

[Translation: There is still a chance to release Imran Khan. General Asim Munir, you have destroyed the respect for the law and the constitution. You have made it a joke. Your behaviour is as if you have lost your mental balance.]

Fact or Fiction?

Soch Fact Check doubted the authenticity of the video as it contained visual and audio inconsistencies typical of AI. These suggested that the clip was likely generated using an AI text-to-video model, similar to some of the fake videos we debunked previously in which soldiers criticised the Pakistan Army and urged political action.

The soldier’s facial expressions do not change and remain unnaturally consistent and robotic throughout the video. When people speak, their cheeks lift, jaws shift, chins tighten, and their eyes convey subtle emotional cues. AI often struggles to replicate these micro-expressions, and, therefore, sync human speech with facial movement, resulting in slight mismatches. The lack of change in his expressions, therefore, is a sign AI was used to create the video.

Additionally, the soldier’s helmet features a green square in the centre, not found on an actual Pakistan Army helmet. His vest also displays both English and Urdu text. While the English appears to read “Raza,” the Urdu text does not form a coherent word. Given that AI struggles to render text and symbols, this is another sign that the clip is most likely AI-generated.

Visual inconsistencies in the clip

Furthermore, the video also exhibits unusual flashing, which is a common artifact of video editing and suggests manipulation.

Soch Fact Check also tried to trace the original source, using keyframes from the video but was unable to find any relevant results. The clip does not appear to originate from any real individual or official account.

Virality

The claim was shared here (archive) on Facebook.

On Instagram, it was shared here (archive) and here (archive).

Conclusion: The viral video of a soldier urging Field Marshal Asim Munir to release Imran Khan is not real and is likely AI-generated.
