Claim: Two videos show the separate occasions on which Indian comedian Kapil Sharma played videos of Imran Khan during his show.
Fact: The claim is false; videos of Khan have been overlaid onto footage from episodes of The Kapil Sharma Show. Additionally, Sharma’s monologue has been digitally edited.
A video shared online shows Indian comedian Kapil Sharma playing a clip of Imran Khan on his show. It begins with Sharma saying, “Imran Khan ki ek chhoti se jhalak jo hai aap apni aankhon se dekhein, please have a look.” [Translation: Catch a glimpse of Imran Khan with your own eyes.]
He then proceeds to show a clip in which the former Pakistani prime minister discusses an incident involving a group of people offering him donations.
Various versions of the same claim have been circulating online, showing different clips of Imran Khan apparently aired on the same episode of The Kapil Sharma Show.
For instance, another video from The Kapil Sharma Show shows the host saying, “Yeh Imran Khan hain, yeh experience bata de ga inka.” [Translation: This is Imran Khan; his experience speaks for itself.]
Similar to the other video, Sharma then proceeds to air a clip of Khan. However, this one shows him at a PTI rally where he talks about being prepared to go to jail and adds that he will not accept the ruling government.
Fact or Fiction?
Soch Fact Check doubted the authenticity of the videos as there are multiple versions of the same episode showing different clips of Khan being aired on the show. There are also several inconsistencies within each of these videos.
The audio in both the viral videos appears out of sync with Sharma’s lip movements suggesting it was digitally altered.
Soch Fact Check reverse-searched keyframes of the first video and traced them to an episode of The Kapil Sharma Show aired in August 2020. The viral clip appears to have been taken from 19:55 onwards, when the comedian video-called people rescued by his guest on that episode, the Indian actor Sonu Sood. Sharma does not mention Imran Khan, nor does he play any of his videos at any point in the episode.
We then reverse-searched keyframes from the second viral video and found an episode of the show that aired in April 2024. This clip was likely taken from around 20:03, when the comedian rose from his seat to read Instagram comments about his guests. However, even here he does not mention Khan or play any of his videos.
In both the episodes, Sharma does not refer to Imran Khan, nor does he broadcast footage of the Pakistani politician at any point. This indicated that videos of Imran Khan were overlaid onto footage from The Kapil Sharma Show and the audio of the comedian, in which we hear him mention the PTI founder, was added digitally.
Shaur Azher, a sound engineer at our sister company Soch Videos, analysed both videos and concluded that the part where Sharma says “Imran Khan” was likely taken from a separate episode of the show – possibly an older one featuring the Indian actor Imran Khan – and overlaid onto the clips in the claim.

Conclusion: The Kapil Sharma Show did not broadcast clips of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. His videos were overlaid onto different episodes from the comedy show, and the host’s monologue was likely digitally edited.
