Claim: A live news broadcast shows a donkey-cart slipping on the road amid heavy rainfall in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Fact: The video is AI-generated.

A video shared on Facebook begins with a reporter saying:,

“Nazreen iss waqt mein Dera Ghazi Khan ke ilaqay se bara he raast report kar rahi hoon, yahan pe bohat tez baarish horahi hai, log baari ko khoob enjoy kar rahay hain. Asli programme to ab wada hai.” [Viewers, I’m reporting live from the area of Dera Ghazi Khan, where it’s raining heavily. People are thoroughly enjoying the rain. The real show is just about to begin.]

As she speaks, a horse-cart emerges behind her and slips on the wet road.

Soch Fact Check recently debunked a slew of monsoon-related misinformation and disinformation, where AI-generated content falsely depicts accidents in areas like Karachi, Gujranwala, and Swat.

Fact or Fiction?

Soch Fact Check reverse-searched keyframes of the video and found that it was originally shared on TikTok by @sajid.ai83. The post was captioned: “Ai Veo 3 😂 #aiveo #aivideo #veo3 #foryou #foryoupage #sajidai83”, indicating that it is likely AI-generated.

The bio of the account read “Agar Ap Bhe As Trha Ke Video Bana Cha te hai To Group Join Karen 👇” [If you also want to make videos like this, join the group 👇], with a link to a WhatsApp group.

A review of theTikTok account revealed that it exclusively posts AI-generated videos. Most of them feature fictional scenes with distorted visuals, synthetic voices, and unnatural animations, all common features of AI-generated content.

Soch Fact Check did not find any evidence that the video was broadcast by a legitimate news outlet. Moreover, the presence of AI-related hashtags and self-promotional AI content confirmed that the video in question was likely created using AI.

Virality

The video was shared here (archive) on Facebook.

Conclusion: A video of a purported live news broadcast from Dera Ghazi Khan, showing a horse-cart slipping on a wet road, is AI-generated.
