Claim: A video shows a recent argument between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Ali Muhammad Khan and Pakistan Muslim League-N’s Rana Tanveer Hussain in the National Assembly.
Fact: The post’s caption does not clarify that the exchange between the PML-N and PTI members is from September 2024.
On 11 July 2025, the Facebook page of local news outlet Public News shared a video that showed clips of a heated exchange between PTI’s Ali Muhammad Khan and PML-N’s Rana Tanveer Hussain, both members of the National Assembly. At various points in the video, the Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq requests Khan to not interrupt Hussain’s speech and for the latter to address the chair. The post contained the following caption in Urdu:
عمران خان پر آرٹیکل 6 لگنا چاہیے!جاؤ اڈیالہ سمجھاؤ اُسے”
تمہار اباپ بھی نہیں لگا سکتا،سنوتم نے آج حد ہی پار کر دی
“رانا تنویر اور علی محمد خان میں پھڈا۔۔ایاز صادق بے بس
It translates to English as follows:
“Article 6 should be imposed on Imran Khan! Go to Adiala and explain that to him.
Even your father cannot impose it. Listen, you have crossed the limit today.
Rana Tanveer and Ali Muhammad Khan clashed. Ayaz Sadiq is helpless”
The same text is also featured inside the frame of the video.
The post does not contain any words to clarify that the video is from a September 2024 National Assembly session and the exchange between them did not take place recently.
Fact or Fiction?
To verify if both MNAs had recently exchanged such heated words, we conducted a search on YouTube for “Ali Muhammad Khan Rana Tanveer Hussain fight”. The earliest instance of the MNAs’ argument was from 10 September 2024. This was shared by prominent Pakistani news outlets, including City 42, Geo News, 24 News, and GNN. These videos show Hussain making his speech, near the end of which Khan cuts in and the argument between them starts. Sadiq then attempts to appease both of them. This part of the exchange is also shown in the video in the claim.
However, since the video in the claim also shows instances of Khan making his own speech, we conducted key word searches on YouTube for “Ali Muhammad Khan 10 September 2024”. This led to instances of Khan’s own speech, also dated 10 September 2024, by Geo News and BOL News. The majority of Khan’s speech revolves around the incident of PTI members being abducted in the early hours of 10 September from parliament premises.
Since there was no instance on YouTube of one speech following from the other, there was doubt as to whether they had taken place on the same day. To verify this, we conducted a reverse-image search of the video’s keyframes, which led us to a livestream clip of Khan’s speech by Independent Urdu. At the information strip at the bottom of the frame, it says it took place during the 9th session of the 16th National Assembly at 11:50 am, and the date displayed is 10 September 2024:
Similarly, we found an instance of Hussain’s speech on Facebook that was posted by the official page of the National Assembly of Pakistan. The bottom of the frame confirms that it also took place during the 9th session of the National Assembly on 10 September 2024. The time displayed is 12:18 pm, meaning Hussain spoke after Khan. At 11:10 in the video, a voice is heard in the background interrupting Hussain, after which Sadiq is heard saying, “Ali Sahab tashreef rakhein” (“Please settle down, Mr Ali”). At 11:23, Hussain also refers to Ali Muhammad Khan by name.
Via the reverse-image search of the video, we also noticed that Public News had shared shorter versions of the video on YouTube on 10 September, 6 November 2024, and 11 July 2025. For the latter two instances, there is no clarification that the heated exchange between the two MNAs took place in September 2024. Moreover, the YouTube posts’ captions contain the line, “Public News Pakistan keeps you fully updated on the latest and major happenings in Pakistan”, which implies they post recent news and adds to the already misleading nature of the videos.

Conclusion: The video showing a heated verbal exchange between Ali Muhammad Khan and Rana Tanveer Hussain is from 10 September 2024. It is not a recent video.
